Obituary for Phyllis F. D'Angelo (Rupolo)

Phyllis F. “Philly/Tzi” (Rupolo) D’Angelo, 89, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 41 years, Nicholas D. D’Angelo, in 2003.

She leaves her devoted children, Deborah A. McGrath and her husband Ronald, of Oakham, and Nicholas S. D’Angelo, of Shrewsbury; her grandson, Michael P. “Mikey” McGrath, of Bristol, CT; her sister-in-law, Mary Rupolo, of Rehoboth; and her nieces and nephews, Gina, Vinnie, Linda, Cheryl, Dominic, Mike, Thomas, and John. Philly was also predeceased by her brother, Saverio Rupolo; and their parents, Dominick and Teresa (Tavernite) Rupolo.

Phyllis was born in Brooklyn, NY, and was a graduate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School in Meriden, CT. She worked for CVS at the former Fairlawn Plaza, where she was an Assistant Manager. Phyllis retired in 1998 after working for Fallon Clinic in Westborough for 16 years, as a Medical Assistant.

She loved cooking Italian food and hosting Sunday dinners, and thoroughly enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods. Phyllis loved reading, and most especially, being with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the D’Angelo family from 9:30 – 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be held privately for her family.
