Obituary for Carol M. (Humphrey) Tinsley
Carol M. (Humphrey) Tinsley, 82, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 13, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center.
She leaves her beloved husband of 52 years, Joseph P. Tinsley, of Auburn; her children, Linda M. Whitelaw and her husband Scot, of Marlborough, Gary F. Tinsley and his wife Claudette, of Oxford, and James J. Tinsley and his wife Marie, of Southbridge; her grandchildren, Rochele, James, Nicholas, Joey, Shane, and Tara; her great-grandchildren, Jordan, Juliana, Lexiana, Erika, and Paisley; her brothers, Charles E. Humphrey, III and his wife Alice, of Auburn, and John Humphrey, of Auburn; along with several nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by two grandsons, TJ and Shane; and her parents, Charles E. Humphrey, Jr. and Marion G. (Reece) Humphrey.
She was born in Worcester, and raised and educated in Auburn, graduating from Auburn High School. Carol then attended Worcester City Hospital, getting her R.N. degree, and graduated from Worcester State College Summa Cum Laude with her B.S.N. and a minor in Psychology. She had an extensive nursing career working in the local hospitals and nursing homes, and retired in 2004 from Webster Manor Nursing Home.
In her free time, Carol enjoyed travelling extensively and crocheting for her family. Her family, and her dog, Jack, meant the most to her.
Services were held privately for the Tinsley family, per Carol’s wishes.
