Obituary for Donald P. "Butch" Meunier

Donald P. “Butch” Meunier, 74, longtime Shrewsbury resident, passed away peacefully on Monday August 1, 2022 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester surrounded by his loved ones.

He leaves his devoted son, Daniel P. Meunier, of Boylson, and step-son, Travis P. Martin, of Worcester; his sisters, Carol Sullivan, Paula Vincequere and her husband James, all of Shrewsbury, and Gail Reuter, of White Plains, NY; his nieces and nephews, John, Michele, Michael Sullivan (Colleen), Andrea Plante, Jamie Vincequere (Erin), Christopher Reuter (Theresa), and Kimberly Reuter (Ankush); his eleven grand-nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.

Butch was born in Worcester, to the late Paul H. Meunier (1986) and Edith D. (Belanger) Meunier (2021). He was raised and educated in Shrewsbury, graduating from Shrewsbury High School prior to enlisting in the United States Army National Guard. Butch worked for the Town of Shrewsbury Water Department for over twenty years, before retiring.

In his free time, he loved NASCAR racing, camping, and boating on Lake Quinsigamond in the summer. Butch enjoyed being around cars, visiting the casino, loved oldies music from the 50’s and 60’s, and getting his morning coffee with his buddies at the Dunkin Donuts in White City. Butch was known for his ability to fix anything, as “Mr. Fixer-Upper.”

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Anne’s Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 (https://stannesparish.org/donations).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Meunier family from 10 – 11 AM on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, with a Mass celebrating his life at 11. Burial will be held at a later date.
