Richard A. “Dick” Brodeur, of Northborough and former resident of Shrewsbury, died peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 20222. He was 94 years old.
His best friend and beloved wife of 68 years, Alice T. (Beauregard) Brodeur passed in 2018. Dick leaves behind many nieces and nephews that he considered as his own children: Pamela Crowley and her husband Paul, Lynn Cetrano and her husband John, Lawrence Brodeur and his wife Joyce, Mark Brodeur and his wife Regina, Margaret Guardiani and her husband Edward, Thomas Brodeur and his wife Maureen, Constance Brodeur Sassi and her husband Thomas, Christine Mooshian and her husband John, Diane Thompson, and Judith Murphy and her husband Timothy. He was predeceased by a sister, Jeannette Stubbert, and by three brothers, Albert, Paul and George Brodeur
Dick was born in Worcester, son of the late George and Cora (Goyette) Brodeur. He graduated from Commerce High School and then enlisted into the United States Navy where he proudly served the country he loved during W.W. II. He had an extensive career in the Automotive Industry working for GMC, in the AC Spark Plug Division and AC/Delco Division, retiring in the early 1990’s as a District Sales Manager.
Dick and Alice enjoyed vacationing, especially by the ocean on Cape Cod, Maine and in later years in Florida. In his spare time, you would find Dick playing a round or two of golf with friends and a league, bowling with friends, reading a book, managing a new jig saw puzzle or just enjoying a good conversation with a new friend. A man of true faith, he was a long-time communicant of Saint Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dick’s family on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St, Shrewsbury, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 AM at Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial with military honors will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
