Nancy N. (Bell) Girouard, 90, of Auburn, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Christmas morning, December 25, 2022 at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Raymond D. “Ray” Girouard, in September of this year.
She leaves her children: Denis Girouard, of Worcester, Sandra Poirier and her husband Jeff, of Charlton, Pamela Convery and her husband David, of Holden, Diane Mason and her husband Peter, of Oxford, Brian Girouard and his wife Christine, of Charlton, Kimberly Zapolski and her husband Jon, of Franklin; her grandchildren: Jill Poirier and her partner Craig, Andrew Poirier, Kimberly Poirier, Michelle Girouard and her partner Ron, André Girouard and his partner Johnson, Jennelle Girouard and her partner Tyler, Kimberly Convery, Patrick Convery and his husband Jesse, Daniel Convery and his wife Julie, Katherine Curini and her husband David, Donald Bubar, Derrick Bubar, Matthew Girouard, Emily Girouard, Samuel Zapolski, and Elijah Zapolski; her great-grandchildren: Mikhaela, Jordan, Malikai, Madison, Anna, Atalia, Grayson, Brady, Josie, Liliana, Luca, and Haylee; a great-great granddaughter, Nova; her brother, Ernest Bell and his wife June, of Dudley; and several nieces and nephews. Nancy was also predeceased by her brother, Charles Bell.
Nancy was born in Worcester, to the late Elwin R. and Martha M. (Mercier) Bell, and was raised and educated in Worcester as well. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. When she and Ray were younger, they lived in Leicester for a time while they worked side-by-side at their Poultry Farm.
Nancy was a lovingly devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and especially loved to dote on the babies! She was a wonderful homemaker, and loved collecting clowns and seashells to display at home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the reader’s choice.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather for Nancy funeral Mass, which will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St. N, Auburn, MA. Burial will be held at a later date. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
