Leonardo P. “Leo” Schiavone, 96, lifelong Shrewsbury resident, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Kathryn Mary (Noonan) Schiavone, in 2004.

He is survived by his children: Leonard J. Leo was a lifelong resident and employee of the Town of Shrewsbury. He was an avid woodworker and cook who shared his talents with many. His dedication to serving the community was evident in his 30 years working for the Highway Department in town, and he was also a call Firefighter prior to the town having a full-time Fire Station.
He was a proud Italian-American and member of both the Italian-American Victory Club and Frohsinn Club, where he and his late wife enjoyed many nights of dancing. His life was full of countless friends and memorable experiences.

As a tribute to his commitment to the Town of Shrewsbury, he was selected and honored twice to lead the annual Town Parade including the town’s bicentennial parade.
Leo’s family would like to thank his many neighbors and friends for their companionship and dedication that made it possible for Leo to live a long, healthy, and active life.
