Obituary for Ernest W. "Chic" Oriente
Ernest W. “Chic” Oriente, 92, of Auburn, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2023.
He leaves his loving wife of 56 years, Audrey; their daughters: Lauren Guerin and husband Tom, of Washington, D.C., and Mary Warren and husband Lonnie, of Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren: Brandi, Jack, and Madeleine; his brother, William Oriente and wife Carolyn, of Spencer; his brother-in-law, Roger Ouellette, of Hackettstown, N.J., along with several nieces and a nephew. Chic was predeceased by his sister, Maria Ouellette; and their parents, Ernest J. and Theresa (Luvisi) Oriente.
He was born in Worcester, and graduated from North High School with the Class of 1948. Chic enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in Japan for a time. He was honorably discharged in 1955, and returned back home to Worcester.
Chic worked at the former New England Power Service Company (now National Grid) for over 35 years and was the Supervisor of Communications at the time of his retirement in 1992.
He was an avid golfer, and could even be found on the course until he was 84 years old. Chic was a founding member of the Whitinsville Golf Club in the 1960’s. When he retired, he began golfing at the Pakachoag Golf Course, only minutes from his home. Chic was also an enthusiastic New England sports fan, but especially loved cheering for the Red Sox.

Services will be held privately for the Oriente family. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
