Obituary for M. Dorothy "Dot" (Flynn) Mastrovito
M. Dorothy “Dot” (Flynn) Mastrovito, 89, of Longboat Key, FL and formerly of Shrewsbury, MA, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, January 20, 2023 with her loving family at her side.
She leaves her beloved husband, Anthony F. Mastrovito, of 64 years; their children, Daniel Mastrovito and his wife Denise, of Attleboro, David Mastrovito, of Sarasota, and Lisa O’Hara and her husband Terry, of Sarasota; grandchildren, Jack and Ava O’Hara; her siblings, Daniel Flynn, of Shrewsbury, and Patricia Yeomans, of Grafton; along with several nieces and nephews.
Dot was born in Shrewsbury to the late Daniel D. Flynn and Molly D. (Wells) Flynn, where she was raised and educated. She was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School, Class of 1951, and later graduated from Becker College.
In her younger years, she worked for Worcester County National Bank, Wyman Gordon, and the New England Telephone Company – her last day was in 1960, when her son Daniel was born on Mother’s Day.
Dot enjoyed antiquing with her mother, Molly, and her daughter Lisa, walks on the beach at her home in Florida, reading, and most of all, loved spending time with her husband Tony, who was her best friend and soulmate.
Dot’s family will be celebrating her funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 30, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury, followed by burial in Mountain View Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at O’Connor’s Restaurant, 1160 W. Boylston Street, Worcester.
