Obituary for Antoinette M. "Toni" (Chickowski) Laukaitis

Antoinette M. “Toni” (Chickowski) Laukaitis, 91, formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 in Quaboag Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care in West Brookfield with her loving family by her side.

Her husband of 53 years, Daniel P. Laukaitis passed away in 2007. She leaves her loving children: Diane Doherty and her husband Phil, of Charlton, Daniel Laukaitis and his wife Margaret, of Barre, Chris Laukaitis and his wife Lorre, of Chesapeake, VA, and Daniel Szklarz and his wife Carmella, of Spencer; eleven grandchildren: Amanda Joy and her husband Jon, Sarah Hull and her husband Jason Hull, Jill Germain and her husband Michael, David Doherty and his wife Ashley, Michael Laukaitis and his wife Amanda, Anna Laukaitis, Kristen Laukaitis and her partner Brian Mayer, Laura Dick and her husband Ryan, Jennifer Albertson and her husband Andrew, Derrick Szklarz and his wife Kristen, and Cory Szklarz; seven great-grandchildren: Everett Doherty, Benjamin Doherty, Madison Laukaitis, Audrey Albertson, Vivienne Szklarz, Genevieve Szklarz, and Macy Dick; her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Laukaitis and Nancy Brosnan, and brother-in-law, Vincent Cox; as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Toni was also predeceased by her siblings, Frankie, Johnny, Bernard, Edward, Helen, Sophie, Jenny, Hedwig, and Rose.

Toni was born in Worcester, to the late John and Bessie (Polinski) Chickowski. She married her beloved Daniel on June 6, 1953 and they settled in Auburn to begin and raise their family. She was a wonderful, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother – her faith, family, and friends meant everything to her! She will be deeply missed, but will always remain loved and remembered in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Laukaitis family between 10 – 11 AM on Monday, February 13, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St. N, Auburn, with her funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
