Obituary for Betty Mae (Damon) Bruso
Betty Mae (Damon) Bruso, 92, of Shrewsbury and formerly of Millbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Shrewsbury Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert W. Bruso, in 1987.
She leaves her children, James Okerberg, of Dennis, and Linda Pope and her husband Peter, of Shrewsbury; her grandchildren, Jessica Morse, of Dennis, Sarah Okerberg, of Brookfield, Ashley Pope, of Grafton, Jennifer Carter, of London, England; her step-grandchildren, Christina Gabbicini and Vinni Kosakowski; and her great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Freddie Carter, both of London. Betty was also predeceased by her parents, Charles W. Damon and Ruth (Hultman) Damon; and her step-children, Rev. Robert D. Bruso and Christine Kosakowski.
Betty was born, raised, and educated in Worcester, graduating from Commerce High School in 1948. She then attended New England School of Accounting and Quinsigamond Community College. Betty had an extensive career as a bookkeeper, working for various companies in the Worcester area.
In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and crafting.
Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Shrewsbury Nursing Home for their loving care.
A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at the end of July, on what would have been her 93rd birthday. The Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
