Obituary for Anne M. (Bottom) Kirby

Anne M. (Bottom) Kirby, 91, of Auburn passed away May 7, 2023 at Rose Monahan Hospice. Her beloved husband Robert, of 59 years, died in 2011. She is survived by her devoted children Robert T. Kirby, and his wife Mary Sue of Jefferson; Diane E. Kirby-LaChance and her husband Glenn of Princeton, John F. Kirby and his wife Adrienne of Shaker Heights, OH; eight grandchildren; Megan Snizek and husband Steve, Julie Wells and husband Nick, Matthew Carpenter and wife Leanne, Leighann Wright and husband Timothy, Adrienne Odom and wife Elizabeth, John F. Kirby, Jr. and partner Caitie Van Sloun, Weston Kirby and wife Emily, Tyler Kirby and wife Kruzhencka, as well as eight great grandchildren.

Anne was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frank and Evelyn (Wing) Bottom, and raised in Auburn. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1950 and later worked for the former Worcester Mutual Ins. Co. Anne enjoyed ballroom and line dancing. She cherished her time spent with family and friends.

Anne was a kind, caring and loving mother and grandmother. Later in life she became a devoted caregiver and advocate for her disabled husband. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed as a woman who lived life with grace, courage and unwavering faith.

The family would like to thank Dr. Young, and the caring staff at Rose Monahan Hospice. A special thank you to Laura and all of her Guardian Angels, especially Kellie, Ann Marie, and Krystal for the wonderful, attentive and professional care and love that Anne received.

A funeral mass celebrating Anne’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Church in Auburn. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Hillside Cemetery in Auburn immediately following.
