SHREWSBURY- Iveta Ice Boundoukin, 43, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Latvia, died Wednesday, November 14th in Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a battle with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia.

She leaves her husband, Dmitri Boundoukin of Shrewsbury; her mother, father and extended family in Latvia and many dear friends.

Iveta was born and raised in Latvia and came to the United States in 1997. She quickly established herself as one of the most prominent and respected ice dance coaches and choreographers in the United States. Iveta coached at the New England Figure Skating Club in Marlborough, where many of her students went on to compete on a national and international level.

Iveta was a gentle soul and she never gave up on life. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends, students, and all who knew her.

A gathering of Iveta's friends will be held on Tuesday, November 20th from 9:00-11:00 A.M. in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Those wishing to attend are asked to bring a rose, as Iveta was not able to smell, touch or be near flowers during her illness.
