Obituary for John Joseph Earley III

AUBURN-John J. Earley, III, 59, of Auburn, died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at home, with his loving family by his side.

He leaves his beloved wife, soul mate and best friend for 44 years, Claire (Partridge) Earley; his three wonderful children; Garrett Earley and his partner David Perk of Jersey City, NJ, Clarissa Earley of Auburn and Ross Earley of Worcester; his brother, George Earley of Worcester; and his cherished grandson, Michael of Auburn. He was born and raised in Worcester, a son of the late John J. Earley, Jr. and Joan L. (LePage) Earley. He graduated from South High School, Class of 1972.

John worked for the railroad his entire working career, working for CSX, Conrail and Penn Central. He held various positions, including; yard clerk, yard master, train master, stevedore and lead foreman. He loved to travel, especially his trips to Disney World.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with John’s family on Saturday, February 18th from 1-3 PM at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A service will then follow at 3 PM in the funeral home. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
