Obituary for Angela L. Andrukonis

Angela L.  Andrukonis
BARRE, MA– Angela L. Andrukonis, Angie, of Barre, MA passed away at the age of 91 on Thursday July 23, 2015 in North Attleboro. Angie was the beloved wife of the late Charles J Andrukonis, to whom she was married for sixty years.

Angie was born on Jan 19, 1924 in Barre the daughter of Joseph and Mary (D’Anolfo) DiFonzo. She is survived by her son, Chuck and wife, Barbara of Shrewsbury; and her daughter, Gayle Parsons and her husband, Mark of Attleboro. She leaves four grandchildren, Christopher Andrukonis and his wife, Sarah, Brian Andrukonis, Daniel Parsons and Courtney Parsons as well as many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her sister, Janet Rushing of Wells, Maine. Angie was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jo DiFonzo of Rochdale, MA and a brother, Frank DiFonzo of Hudson, MA.

Angie graduated from Barre High School and Dress Design School. She was last employed in 1982 by Petrolane Northeast Gas Service as an Assistant Office Manager. Prior she worked at Beard Chevrolet - Pontiac as an office clerk, as well as the Barre Wool Combing Company as a Secretary. Angie was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish in Barre where she was a member of the parish guild.

Angie loved being with people. She always greeted you with warmth and a big smile, making you feel like her best friend. She was a great cook and loved putting on a feast for her family and friends. Angie enjoyed many personal hobbies including sewing, knitting, and crafts. She also loved to dance and enjoyed singing. Above all, Angie cherished her time with family. She would not miss a family event, especially those of her grandchildren. To Angie, birthdays were a mandatory family celebration, she always arrived with a meal, cake and candles in hand. Her love and support for her entire family will always be admired and remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, July 27, 2015 from 4:00-7:00PM at Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. The funeral will be held on Tuesday with a funeral Mass celebrated at 10:00am in
St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston, MA. Burial will follow in St Joseph’s Cemetery in Barre, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Angela’s name to the Community VNA Hospice Care, Development Dept., 10 Emory St., Attleboro, MA 02703.
