Dear Family, I had the good fortune of having Mr. Dumphy as my math teacher in the sixth grade at North Shore School. He was my favorite math teacher, because he made math come alive! I later met up with Mr. Dumphy again as a young adult. Ralph and I taught together at Beal School this time, and he was instrumental in helping me learn the ropes during my first year of teaching! As a result, I continued to teach for over 30 years and I still continue to tutor in my retirement years! Ralph was a very special teacher and mentor to me, and I was able to say thank you to him, every time I ran into to him at the grocery store! On the lighter side, I loved it when we had a boring mundane teacher's meeting, Ralph would sometimes turn off his hearing aides and roll his eyes and gave us a wink! I am sure that I do not have to remind any of you as to what an inspiring man he was to so many people! With sympathy, Joyce Perreault
