From an early age, I knew I was blessed by special aunts and uncles -- both maternal and paternal -- that I always looked up to and who greatly influenced my life.  Uncle Serge was mom's oldest brother, and one of those special uncles who meant so much to me over the years. Thank you, Uncle Serge, for your wonderful example as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. You always modeled grace and joy and showed loving kindness without effort. You were a delight to be around no matter what the occasion! Roy and I asked you to officiate at our wedding many years ago, and it will always be a treasured memory!  Your kindness, compassion, love of life, your love of family, your curiousity of family ancestry, your interest in others, and so many other admirable attributes were always apparent, but not on display, but rather an inherent part of your wonderful nature. Corresponding with you over the years was special -- thank you for your letters and cards and for always exemplifiying God's love.
